Once again, sounds like another law that should have gotten an expiration date on it because the true intent of this law is already covered by tons of other laws reguarding public safety. Still, getting the death penalty for putting unspecified amount of salt on railroad tracks seems harsh. Better keep those McDonalds fries away from railroad tracks.

People, this law is enforced and idiotlaws, Alabama also uses lethal injection and death by gun ????. And it’s not just a bottle of salt, it can be any type of salt. And if YOU are on A TRAIN holding SALT does not mean you will get killed and plus, no one under 16 may be executed in Alabama.
It seems as if you are all incorrect. In the old days trains had very little grip to th tracks so that means something as small as salt could derail a train. Therefore it was and still is punishable by death and Alabama

Pouring salt on the rail causes the rail to rust and weaken the rail that can cause a break in the rail that will derail the train. Most freight trains in alabama carry hazardous material
You’re wrong. They meant Salt Licks, big blocks of salt that could cause a train to derail.
