So… it’s against the law to mutilate on a rock?

If you had ANY idea what mutilation to rocks in our parks does to our park or how severe the problem is, you wouldn’t be joking about it. The law is referring to preserved rock formations, not the average rock to pick up from the ground. Vandalism is a severe problem in our parks, especially in the Garden of the Gods Park, and costs the taxpayer tens of thousands of dollars to repair and clean. In addition, many of these rock formations that they are destroying are thousands of years old. Google Garden of the Gods and you’ll understand why it’s illegal and why breaking this law has serious consequences.
These are great. All though I do agree with the law about “mutilating” rocks, trees, etc.. I was an employee od The National Park Service. I also volunteer for B.L.M., Fish and Game.
bomb ALL the rocks!!
