Sec. 3-46.
Required; application.
(a) Any person owning, keeping, harboring or having custody of any dog or potbelly pig over three (3) months of age within the city must obtain a license as provided in this article.
(b) Application for a license must be made within thirty (30) days after obtaining a dog or potbelly pig over three (3) months of age, within thirty (30) days after such dog or potbelly pig is brought into the city or within thirty (30) days after such dog or potbelly pig reaches three (3) months of age, except that this requirement will not apply to a nonresident keeping a dog or potbelly pig within the city for no longer than sixty (60) days.

Agreed, utterly stupid. This means lagit people who want to do the right thing and get their dogs licensed will have to pay the fees. People who are corrupt and treat their dogs like crap will just ignore this law and probably get away with it for the (short) life of the dog. Most of my friends and family I’ve spoken to with house dogs have all told me they never buy any stupid licenses.
So some people say their dog is like a child, do you have to pay yearly to license your child? NO
So some people say a dog is part of their house, their property. Does anybody else remember ever licensing their kitchen table?

Its a great law when you see how some people treat their pets.
i think it is utterly stupid. and not to mention, cats are not required to be licensed or anything. what kind of shit is that?
