Every single person in Illinois pronounces it wrong that’s why. When I moved here, I’d always hear people saying Jolly-ette and I’m like oh okay. Then I saw it spelled as Joliet and I’m like wait a minute that can’t be how you pronounce that. But still every single person says it the retarded way. Even on the radio the DJ’s all say it wrong to. I finally got sick of hearing people say it weird so I looked it up today and low and behold, the city made it illegal and everybody really does say it wrong.
So I think this law that is not even enforced is a rightful law.
Its so they can get easy money i bet lol
I go to school in Joliet, never actually seen this enforced. Next time I go to the library and here someone say it like “Jolly-ette” I’m gonna say “You owe Joliet $5 now!”
I live in Joliet…it’s irritating when people say it wrong, the end.
What! Someone I know lives in Joliet Illinois! Screw this! *shoots self* (Fake)
Well, I think they want people to say their name correctly. I know i would want people to call me by my correct name. I just may start charging 5$ for mispronouncing my name. Plus it looks like their town name is Toilet!..O SHIZ! i just may be charged $5 just there.
whats the point of thi stupid ass law?
awsome!, how much money is received per year because of this?
